The neck heel has been the center of controversy for as long as the guitar has existed. It is perceived as cumbersome and intrusive since it can block access to the higher frets, particularly guitars with the bolt on style neck. We have designed several options to overcome this dilemma.
Contour Heel
Our contour heel is designed to smooth the transition into the upper register. By narrowing the heel, rounding off the corners, and tapering the edges we have managed to finesse the heel to fit smoothly into the palm where it is barely noticeable.
Recessed Contour Heel
Our recessed contour heel is similar to our contour heel with an additional ¼” of material removed from the back in a semi circle shape. This provides even less noticeable transitions while maintaining the sustain and responsiveness players demand.
Square Heel
Our square heel is a standard copy of the original Fender design. We offer this simply because it is the most common and most requested heel design.
Recessed Square Heel
Our recessed square heel is a standard square heel model with an additional ¼” of material removed from the back in a semi circle shape. This allows traditionalists to remain true to the square heel design while still providing the higher quality smooth transition into the upper register.
